Hi, I’m Sabrina!

A student and aspiring marketing & communications professional passionate about storytelling, brand strategy, and bringing creative ideas to life. With a background in Global Development and growing expertise in marketing, I enjoy analysing how brands connect with audiences and how thoughtful design and messaging drive real impact.

I earned my BA in Global Development from Queen’s University (2024), where I developed strong research, communication, and cross-cultural understanding skills. Now, I’m pursuing a post-graduate certificate in Marketing Management at Humber College (expected August 2025), expanding my skills in digital marketing, branding, and strategic communications.

Why Marketing & Communications?

I didn’t always know I’d end up in marketing, but looking back, it makes sense. I’ve always had a creative side, whether through writing, design, or finding new ways to solve problems, but I never considered how that could translate into a career until I experienced it firsthand.

 

While working as a Publishing & Communications Assistant, I realised how much I enjoy shaping how people perceive and engage with a brand. From refining messaging to designing materials, I loved the process of turning abstract ideas into something clear, compelling, and functional. That experience showed me that great marketing isn’t just about making things look good, it’s about making them work.

Skills & Experience

I’ve worked on a variety of projects, from brochures and catalogues to social media content and website building. I love the challenge of taking an idea, whether my own or someone else’s and turning it into something that looks great and works even better!

What Drives Me

At my core, I love bringing ideas to life in a way that resonates with people. Whether it’s branding, marketing campaigns, or visual design, I enjoy transforming concepts into something polished, purposeful, and impactful. Seeing a brand come to life and knowing I played a role in shaping that vision is what excites me.

 

I’m also fascinated by brand storytelling, and how companies craft narratives that connect with their audiences through consistency, emotion, and authenticity. I love analysing and critiquing ads, breaking down what works (and what doesn’t) to understand the strategies behind them.

 

Beyond creativity, I thrive on problem-solving and execution. I’m adaptable, detail-oriented, and persistent; if I need to learn a new tool to get the job done, I’ll do it out of sheer determination (or spite, if it's particularly frustrating).
